Since the flooding that has occurred across the declare in June, eight counties have been declared as primary natural d areas by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Those eight counties include Calhoun, Jefferson, Miller, Unity, Desha, Lincoln, Pope and Yell.

Arkansas County let out operators will also qualify for natural disaster assistance due to it being contiguous, or sharing a edge with one of the eight counties listed.

Contiguous counties, besides Arkansas County catalogue Dallas, Little River, Perry, Ashley, Drew, Logan, Phillips, Bradley, Wardrobe, Lonoke, Pulaski, Chicot, Grant, Montgomery, Scott, Cleveland, Hempstead, Newton, Searcy, Columbia, Johnson, Ouachita, Van Buren, Conway and Lafayette.

"President Obama and I perceive these conditions caused severe damage to the area and serious damage to farms in Arkansas and we want to help," Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack said in a seethe release released Wednesday. "This action will stock up help to hundreds of farmers who suffered significant film losses to a wide variety of crops including corn, soybeans, cotton and vegetables."
