On the Town: Fore fun, charity

The Indian summer rise above reminded me of all of the great golf events we had this summer and collapse. Most were for charity, some were just for fun, and many folks were still on the links yesterday enjoying the sun. There is at all times to play before the snow flies, and even then, die-hard golfers sheaf up and play right on through.

GOLF course god Arthur Hills, founding important of Arthur Hills/Steve Forrest and Associates, was the patron speaker Oct. 23 at Toledo Country Club's spieler-series dinner.

Mr. Hills, a local boy, has been responsible for the undertaking of more than 200 golf courses around the world over some 40 years. Among the courses he has renovated and sensitive is the Toledo Country Club.

THE Jamie Farr Owens Corning Outstanding presented by Kroger, which will return in July of 2010, is by “farr” the biggest generous golf outing in town. However, many one-day events contributed too, and every bit — big or commonplace — helps.
