Insurance Careers...?

I'm in my current 20's. I have a lot of automotive experience. I am strongly considering going back to Lyceum and/or changing my career. How would I go about getting into insurance. Automotive claims adjuster is something I've thinking about. Anybody have any knowledge of this field? Pay? Work-life balance, training, getting certified??? Thanks

i've been an insurance surrogate w/ nationwide for about a year. i'm feeling a little tied down w/ the whole 9 to 5 workweek. i've been offerred a job as a element secretary at a well known hospital in my area, making about the same as i do now, but only working three 12hr shifts (monday, tuesday and wednesday) the job sounds wonderful, but i don't recall if i should leave the security of my insurance job and totally wing it on a new career path (i have no whilom before medical history) any advice?
