My insurance coterie has raised my prescription copayments to approximately 80% of the total cost. I about that this is ridiculous. Especially since I used to pay much less in the recent past. I'd like to discover from people who are knowledgeable about prescriptions and insurance companies who may have suggestions as to how I can go about getting my copayment reduced, if that is feasible.
Polite, sincere, constructive, relevant answers only please.
It's insurance through an employer. I am not the policy holder but I do be given benefits as a relative of the policy holder.
Is it reticent insurance or through an employer? If it is through an employer, I would speak to the Human Resource Dept or whichever responsibility is in charge of health care benefits at your company. They would be able to tender you an explanation to the increase in copays as well as information on how you can go about changing it if it is possible.
If it is a special insurance company, I would call the company directly and also ask for an explanation. They will also be able to tell you how to go about changing your means to lower the copays.
Is it Medicare Part D? If so, you can check http://www.medicare.gov which will aide you find prescription drug coverage that will better meet your needs. You can also call 1-800-MEDICARE . Unsettled enrollment ends soon, so you only have a few more weeks to switch your plan if you have Medicare Part D.
You would have to twitch policy's to get different co-payments.

Do Veterans Administration Health Benefits Offer A Way To Offset Huge Copayments Of Private Primary Insurance?
Jul 07, 2007 by gc_ave | Posted in Other - Health
My bird has served in the army for a long time but never availed of any VA health benefits at all. Now he is fa very large copayments over $100 for certain medications, thanks to his private robustness insurance carrier's copay requirements. Is it possible for him to sign up with VA in system to have copayments covered under some VA benefit? Are there better alternatives than this maybe? Thanks!
If your ally is able to prove that the reason he is taking the medications are service connected, he will be competent to get that medication for free or for a small fee of, I believe, $7. Also my husband is with the VA and gets some of his medication for $9 that is not for his assignment connected disability. It is definitely worth looking into and see what he is able to get. Have him obstruction with his local VA representative to see all that he may be eligible for.

If you Maecenas is 50-100% service connected he does not have to pay a dime. What is happening is the VA is very bussy now with all the new veterans from the Golf War, Afganistan and now Iraq. If the tenacious has insurance they will collect only what the insurance pays the VA. You friend need to bring his form 214, and also W2 sort to Release of information and find out why he has to pay so much money. Good Luck and God Bless!
