Want To Migrate From Life And Pensions Domain To General Insurance Domain?

I have individual and Pensions experience but in the market most of the vacancies are in General insurance. I am having 2 years of experience in Individual and Pensions but overall experience is 7 years and now I am thinking to start the bone up on (professional Certifications) for general insurance as opportunities are better there.
Could someone suggest how safe this could be?
