Family Discounts With Cell Phones And Car Insurance?
Aug 03, 2009 by MLeinart7 | Posted in Insurance
My paterfamilias gets a multi-car discount with car insurance by keeping the cars in his name ... isn't this how all families should use their car insurance, even if the children have moved away and are on their own? If someone can protect money by having a family plan, even though the children have moved out and function on their own, isn't this more normal?
OK, you're not unqualifiedly asking a question here.
But there's a MAJOR drawback to this. See, dad owns those cars. That means, if he gets sued, the cars can be bewitched by a creditor. When he dies, the cars are part of his estate, and go to whomever he designates in his will.
Either of those can give stop YOU carless.
But most kids, when they grow up, want to be responsible for themselves - even if they have to pay a bit more for their own car insurance. After all, do you want dad qualified every ticket and accident you have?
If the cars are in his name than it is dainty for him to have the insurance in his name and get the discount for having them in a family plan. You get a multi-coverage discount on the home policy also.

Okay, I have two cars (2003 Accordance & a 1999 Bmw 323i). I have basic liability for both cars for my wife and I as drivers, plus $25,000 additional exposure coverage on the cars.
We just paid $427 for an entire year for the same car insurance convention we were already paying around $2,000 for before! How can you beat that? I have tried and I have looked through numerous car insurance companies, you have to find the in all honesty bargain. Find the best deals available on the entire internet. If you already have Allstate, Geico, AIG, Reformist, Mercury, Esurance, American Family, Nationwide or any other USA auto insurance, and you are paying too much, Go here:

Multi- Car Insurance Policy - Are They Available?

I own a gleaning of vehicles, mostly 1980/90's, and want to insure them on one policy. I am the only driver, with maximal no claims discount. The vehicles would have an individual maximum value of £5000. Although not a motor wholesaler I do want the flexibility of changing vehicles occasionally without the hassle and expense of practice changes. I could declare the vehicles at the start of the policy.
I have found companies with policies for multi-car, but they are only interested in modern cars, with multi drivers.
