Why Do So Many Credit Card Companies Exclude Rental Car Insurance For Rentals In Ireland?

I've had a slews of credit cards with the rental car coverage. Not a single one exculded Erie. Effectively all of them excluded Ulster, however, for what should be obvious reasons. The level of violence in Ulster has subsided relatively from its historic levels. If this continues then maybe the credit card insurance companies will metamorphose their policies and start offering coverage there.

I have been told that most credit condolence card don't carry coverage in Ireland and unlike most countries you go to, you HAVE to buy THEIR insurance. Please let me know if this is true and is it the overpower decision to get just liability while I'm there. Thanks.
I can't, nor can anyone else here, articulate in for your credit card's policies. Call them and ask.
I can tell you that your auto policy from the USA won't wrapper a car in another country though.
Don't just get liability coverage, get collision and comprehensive coverage too--unless you don't rake over the coals paying for the damage to the rental car. Total it and you could be looking at a $25,000 bill. That'd make the insurance look moderately affordable.

Thwart with your insurance company first. I think that credit card insurance coverage is secondary and only kicks in after your immediate insurance carriers pays out.
