Do PARKING TICKETS In FLORIDA Affect Your Drivers License In Any Way?
Feb 12, 2008 by mybusiness2 | Posted in Law & Ethics
Someone in my dearest got quite a few parking tickets after moving to a city within same county he'd been living before, which is Miami-Dade County. Being a chief citizen and in no real need of driving much, hasn't done so for many months.
I have checked online to see if anything shows up, and system tells me driver license is okay. If he were to start driving again (which he exactly might), those still unpaid parking tickets from this city would it affect him in any way. I believe at least one of the tickets said CITATION.
He hasn't been clever to pay due to big economic problems. Will these tickets show up in the license department or once he gets new car insurance?
They do not swing your drivers license in Florida over parking tickets, nor do they affect your insurance.
BUT... he will not be able to reveal a car unless he clears them off, and when his license expires he won't be able to renew it without clearing them.

This at issue is close to my heart, because I just went through this. The ticket is attached to the ownership of the car that was parked, so he will not be able to renew or transfer the title unless he pays for the ticket. If he goes to reinvigorate, they will just add the amount due to the price of renewal.
If too much time goes by and he doesn't pay it or regenerate the car registration, he will be contacted by the court.

Parking tickets are non-effective violations and in most state are not reflected on your drivers license but if you fail to pay them, then - a warrant can be issued for your nab and that will go on your be reflected on your criminal record.
Citations are tickets that do carry fines...

I have a dual house in FL / NY.
When we first moved down I had a FL only license (this is one that is only used in the state of FL - when you drive outside of FL you would need to show another license) But NY does not proffer this type of license. So I now have a FL license with a NY ID Card (to show my NY address for bank accounts and proof of apply oneself to)
You can keep your FL license and check with Maryland to see what they offer in the way of ID/License. If your car will be staying in MD then you'd need to insure it ... if your children will be using it then they can register and insure it if it needs a licensed driver, then everyone will be insured.
You can conduct in any state as long as you have a valid license from any state.
So it's not a problem to keep you FL License. Just report register with Maryland License Bureau to find out what you need to be a "snowbird" It's not a big attend to, we've been doing FL/NY for 10 years now. Good luck and many happy snowbird years to you!

I would call or email the DMV in Maryland to see what their regulation is - it may be state specific. When I moved to Colorado from AZ I was required to change my license and insurance to CO - but I moved as a durable resident. It's my understanding that you only need a license for the state of your primary residence. So if you're only there a few months out of the year I scepticism you'll need to trade in your FL license or worry about changing the car's plates, especially if it's also in your son's name. It's mindless to have someone go to the DMV twice a year for a state-specific license, but the DMV will tell you for sure.

In which state of affairs do you pay state taxes? That is your state of residence. Get your license there.
