My car is registered under my name and my Fellow-countryman in Law intends to use it, I don't want to add him to my own insurance policy, Is it okay for him to purchase an insurance policy under his own name for my car
Nope, you would have 2 insurance declining claims if the car was in an casualty and you both were in it, or if it was vandalized or stolen. If he is going to be a regular driver, you list him on the principles. If he is merely borrowing the car as an occasional driver, he is covered on your policy so dream of as his licence is valid, and he doesn't fit into a prohibited group, such as DUI-convicted recently, underage, or something like that.
He has no insurable interest in the car, so the only practice he could get would be supplemental for a non-owned vehicle.
if you already have insurance on the car then no your fellow-countryman in law cannot put insurance on it in his name.

You can't folded insure. I hate to say it, but adding your brother-in-law to the policy may be your best bet. You can have him pay the diversity in cost of the policy. If not, you can have him get coverage and drop yours. If you do this, you run the risk of him dropping coverage later on without your apprehension and the vehicle could be without insurance at all. If you are financing the vehicle, your lender may not allow you not to carry coverage under your name.

Last I knew, you could not get insurance on a car you do not own (except rentals).

Two Ppl Getting Insurance On 1 Vehicle Through Two Different Companies?
Jun 07, 2007 by adam k | Posted in Insurance & Registration
Status quo, going to take buddies wineebago for a weekend, and im wanting to get insured on it for legitimate a month, can i get it insured by my insurance company even if the owner is insured from a different band, i dont see any reason why this would be a problem but my mom says its against state laws in Indiana. and lend a hand would be apperciated
It cannot be done as a full insurance ways. You can possibly buy a short-term policy similar to a rental vehicle programme to cover anything over and above the original policy the owner has, fot the time you have the vehicle, but, his policy will be first pay, and any rule you get can only come into effect if first pay limits are reached. There can not be 2 full policies on the same vehicle, or you end up with a heck of a court make if there is a claim, with both companies denying. For the exact requirements and possibilities, talk to your own insurance stockjobber to see if such a 2nd payer or non-owned vehicle policy exists there. We have such policies in Manitoba, but not every conditions and province does. Now I presume you are borrowing the motorhome, and not renting it. If you are renting it, it has to be registered and insured as a u-effort vehicle. If you are borrowing it, and your buddy is not going to be handy, take a letter authorizing you to be in secure of the vehicle.
Does this buddy have insurance that covers not only him, but anyone else who drives his vehicle?
Please, do yourself a mammoth favor, and check with him about his insurance, and check with yourinsurance, the same question. It could be illegal to have two another insurance companies cover the same vehicle.
Take care.

You should call your insurance throng and ask them, not your mom. You may be covered for injuries you cause to others on your own auto policy, even if you are driving someone else's vehicle, but the deface to the vehicle itself would still be on the owner's policy, and may or may not be covered, depending on how their policy is written. You can, in most states, add the vehicle to your custom for a short time, or write a separate policy for the winnebago. It would doubtlessly be more cost effective if the owner of the winnebago adds you to HIS policy as a driver, and you pay the discrepancy in premium.

We essential full coverage due to still paying off cars. Plus about how much to send 2 vehicles over?
An insurance representative that can write policies in HI would be able to answer the first question, and a shipping crowd the second. You might consider buying a car once you get there rather than shipping yours.
