In New York, Does A VEHICLE Have To Be Insured Or Does The Driver Need To Have Insurance?
Aug 02, 2008 by Vincent Z | Posted in Insurance
I at best turned 18 and my parent's insurance company is making a great effort to add my name onto their delineate (and almost double the premium). I know in New York, you MUST have insurance to drive, but does that mean that the car must be insured? Or does my name have to be under an insurance devise? I'm really not sure how this whole insurance business goes :(
The means has to be insured, to keep the plates valid.
And if your parents have a policy, they must list all licensed, household members as drivers, on their strategy. If your parents to NOT list a licensed household member, on their policy, then the insurance company can Usually imperative bugger off any claims for any accident you might have, while driving their car.
That's FRAUD. Failure to list a licensed household fellow. And it can be way, way expensive. Your parents will have to list you, or their carrier will cancel them, and they can try defrauder with a different insurance company.

you and your car must be insured

If you own your car unencumbered and clear and only want to insure for damage to the other parties car, bodily abuse for you and them I believe it is legal. If your car has a lien on it,it will also have to be insured.

The means has to be insured. Also with most companies, if you are the primary driver of the car, you must be listed as the primary. If you are a unoriginal driver, you will be listed as such. If, however, you loan the car to your friend one time and they wreck it, it in a general way will cover this even though they aren't covered. If you drive it as the primary, though you must be listed, because say you get a ticket, then you get in a loss - the agent will see that you were driving both times and the adjusters may not cover the wreck.

Is New York Life A Good Company To Start My New Career With?...?
Jul 06, 2007 by Matt W | Posted in Insurance
I am flourishing to jump into the Finance and Insurance Industry. I am very seriously considering taking a place with New York Life to sell Insurance.
First off, I will sell health and life insurance, then I will complete my training on becoming a certified pecuniary planner. New York Life is known for their great trainning program, exceptionally for new agents in the career.
I strongly welcome any comments or suggestions.
NY Lifestyle is a good company with a strong rating. But as a new agent, it might not go too well at first. When you arrive, you will need to put together a Draft 300. That is 300 names of your friends, family and anyone else who you could get into to talk insurance. Those are your first and only leads you will get to start. You will have to develop intensify your practice on your own family. But if you already have an "in" somewhere else, then great, hold off on the family.
If you have an antipathy to "hittting up" your family right out of the gate, then you might fancy to find a company that would provide leads to you. I am with a company that provided leads to use, free of charge, and I have been in the work for over a year and a half and I have yet to write a member of my family. Nor have I even asked. This was my go through, and the info about NY Life came from a former agent who now is in our office. She left NY Sustenance 2 years ago. Good luck whichever you go, I love this business and I upon you do will as well.
If that's where your passion lies, then go for it.
From one's own viewpoint, I don't trust the entire industry.

very company plan and very good company and if you stick it out and work hard you will be sucessful. As you are so optomistic and fervid about it, I know it will go good for you. Positive attitude and hard work is the furtively to life and I got to retire at 42 because I wanted to work hard and be fortune and did it.

I did as you're doing. It's a seemly place to get some basic skills. NY Life is better than most Insurance Companies. But the new rep is large out there selling inappropriate, expensive products.
It's not easy. But no one can tell you whether it's upright for you or not. You'll be asked to go after family and friends. You'll be discouraged from selling low commission products which... as a ordinary rule are better for your clients.

NY Sentience is a reputable insurance company and has a good company rating. I work for another insurance company which has one of the highest ratings as well. I coincide with you as far as looking at the training program goes, I think CFP should be on the horizon if you are at face value looking to get into the planning arena.
The only aspect I don't like about NY LIfe is that they are internee. This means they only offer their own products directly. There is a way for them to offer products from other companys, but they are required to go through a third social gathering system. This doesn't always guarunttee your client the best rate if you do need to look elsewhere.
If you have explored your options and looked at a few companys, then I say try it out! If you privation some suggestions for other companys you can look into as well, let me know.
Hope this helps!

Sep 11, 2007 by bill t | Posted in Small Business
My skilful commercial clients want me to do all their contracting needs such as dry wall, plumbing, electrifying for their stores, they trust me and want me to get things done, i wanna make a living. I am having a critical time getting any straight answers. I would like to sub out to highly proffesionals with their own entitlement and insurance. what is the least expensive way for me to do business and what kind of insurance and licence do I need? I am being told buy insurance companies that i scarcity to get about $12,000. liaibility and $10,000. in workers comp. Please help someone so I am allowed to vigorous a l honest living withotu giving all my money to these other guys!
Im in the cleaning calling with similar situations. The insurance should NOT cost too much. I finally found, through american family insurance, the minimum that I needed and it costs about 30.00 per month. That is not bad. Be watchful for those chaps that will try to bilk you out of hundreds. Did you know that most companies ask for this insurance not because they are concerned that you will destitution it but because on paperwork it proves to THEIR insurance companies and the IRS that you are an independent contractor and not an employee? Insurance repeat sounds about right just watch the prices. They will ask you to pay the first three months in go on.
I am not sure why on earth you would need workers comp if you are hiring out to subcontractors as that is for employees. Workers comp wont even wrapper you. It is ONLY for employees. Best recheck that info.
I have a contract that I make my subcontractors sacrifice, covers stuff like them trying to take my work away, their guide, due dates, billing submission and so much more. You really want that more than anything else. Pressure sure the contracts are as complete as possible. I might have a copy still and can email it to you if you friend me just to give you an idea of what you are looking at.
The best way to get the most educated answers would be to phone your local "score" office. They are bent on promoting stingy businesses and will help you any way they can for free or a very small price. Here is the link in your stretch, they will even work with you over the phone. http://www.scorenyc.org/
Be picky with those subcontractors at first. Dont be delightful. All business. I had to learn the hard way. Now im not saying be a jerk but firm, popular perfection. It will weed out the chumps quickly. I really have to do this being a woman but I am a spectacular business person. I have gone through about 5 people to find one good one and that is lucky. Most say 20 to 1. Do in their rumps and check all their work often. Dont let them chum up to you and watch out for the ones who try and vamoose you laugh a lot or refocus on other things besides the work, like family, finances, and eating.
Ask those satisfied companies you work with to post on Angieslist.com for you too. You will be great.
