Are there any coterie that offer training or certification to adjust insurance claims, especially cats (catastrophic claims such as tornado damage?) Also, would certification expand my career opportunities when applying to companies, or would it be a wasted strain? Any help or online resources would be greatly appreciated.

I have been looking into getting a authorize to become an insurance adjuster in Texas, and I have found a few websites offering different certifications but I am still pretty clueless. haha. I don't grasp anyone who is in this line of work so I was just looking for some helpful advice on which certification would be the surpass in regards to the best salary, etc... Are there any insurance adjusters out there who can lead me in the rectitude direction?? Thank you!

Go talk to your car insurance advocate, or a local adjusting firm (not sure where in TX you are) like Crawford & Cast, and ask to talk to someone there.
You should also start with the TX insurance department website.
I am in dallas TX and got my all lines adjuster accredit back in March. I went through http://theadjusterschool.com/ and went to the class in Irving.
It wasnt too obscure ... considering you have some background in insurance. I want to say total cost for the caste, fees to the state.. and everything it was about $600. I just got mine to add a nice line to my resume. I profession in health insurance but figured it couldnt hurt! To be totally honest it is difficult absolute now for all areas of insurance with the economy. Esp with adjusters it is hard to find a job but if you have prospects then go for it! Even if you dont get a jo with it propitious away as long as you keep it up to date by taking your CEs every 2 years then im sure it will pay off someday. The guy that taught the no doubt was really cool though I would totally recommend the school.
