If Your Car Is Written Off After An Accident Does Your Insurance Premium Go Up Immediately?
Aug 30, 2007 by pennymoth | Posted in Insurance & Registration
Our car crashed on Sunday and we've just now been told it will be written off. We're hoping to get a new car but will the premium go up with immediate effect or whem it is due for renewal?
If your car is written off, the design ceases there and then. It's because that policy covered that car, which is no more. When you find a new car, it will require a new proposal & your premium will depend on that.
it should only go up at renewal time and if it was your fault.

The renewal premium will go up.
TallPaul | Aug 30, 2007
It will be due for renewal when you get your new car as all the details will dearth to change for the new car.
Word of advice, pay the extra few quid to protect your no claims honorarium!
Boy Wonder | Aug 30, 2007
At renewal if premiums are well-to-do and/or you lose no claims bonus. However, some insurers cancel the policy from the steady old-fashioned of write off as they take the view that there is nothing to insure anymore.
There are other factors (no claims reward protection, whether the accident was your fault etc) involved but I'll keep the answer straightforward.

Indeed what's going to affect your premium is the vehicle you buy. Insurance is not across the board the same for each individual. When you narrow it down to a few choices, call your insurance agency and s/he should give you quotes for each one. Are you certain your premium is going to go up? When I totalled a car July 02, mine didn't go up, well-founded corresponded with the new vehicle I purchased. Granted, I then totalled another car December '04, and it did go up minor extent.

Car Accident-how Much Will My Insurance Premium Go Up?
Apr 28, 2007 by Ginger | Posted in Insurance & Registration
I was in a car accident today, driving the go like greased lightning limit at about 30 miles per hour in a residential neighboorhood, not paying distinction and struck the car to the left of me, damaging the driver's door of my car and the other car's passenger door. He was driving his circle's truck. I already have an accident on my record from 1/06 that was my fault (not a huge accident, but not a super lassie one, no injuries). Today's accident caused no injuries. I can tell my car door and the front bumper will have occasion for replacing. I assume that the other car needs the passenger door replaced. My annual insurance premium is $3,240, but last month a conveyance ticket just came off my record. My car is a four door 2004 Honda & I am a 42 year old female who lives in Fremont, CA. I'm frightful my monthly car insurance payment will go up a lot! Does anyone know how much it will go up? Thank you so much!
At this tally it is unlikely to go up. It is more likely that they will drop you altogether. I would check into new insurance BEFORE the accident is committed to accomplishment. Once dropped you'll pay through the nose. Your record has been getting worse and just because the ticket dropped does not stingy they can't find out about it later when doing the underwriting of the new policy.

I admit with chasefranklin, they will probably drop you and you will be considered a high risk driver, be watchful and try to stay clean for at least three years.

I tush-ended a car that in turn rear-ended another car. Damage to my car cost $6500, debt claims against my policy at $5000. Also one driver claimed for bodily maltreatment amounting to $2000. I am insured under Progressive in Texas
about 10 to 15 percent enlargement or if they forgive you for the first accident depends on the insurance company
steppenwolf1a2003 | Mar 17, 2008
$50.00? In your dreams.
Your custom may have an accident forgiveness section. Most don't. I'd say at least a 50% increase.
