Insurance Adjusters....Where Can I Find A School Or CE For Cargo Adjusters?
Feb 13, 2007 by micah z | Posted in Insurance
I am a freight adjuster for an independent heavy equipment insurance claims adjusting unwavering and I need to find some continuing education. I work for my dad that handles claims on all louring equipment, 18 wheelers and he hired me after hurricane Katrina to helper him in his office. I was a social worker before the storm so I have been thrown into this kind of occupation. Although my dad is an excellent teacher and mentor, I still need some kind of formal learning in this line of work and I have not been able to find any schools, conventions or classes that educate CARGO which is my main job. I have read heavy equipment claims magazines, looked online and even called our clients to see if they knew of any and had no chances. Someone please help!!! I love this job and I want to be the best at what I do. I am getting on the job training but my dad will hibernate in the next few years and i don't want him to take his knowledge with him.

As others have stated, find an insurance group that's willing to train.
I recently found a job as a property adjuster. They were not looking for knowledge necessarily although I had been a licensed insurance rep.
