Which Insurance Would Cover My Sick Days-selfemployed?
Sep 18, 2008 by Aish | Posted in Insurance
In Canada/B.c
I am self employed and extremity to go for surgery. My recovering time is about 2weeks.
My question is (for future),
is there any medical insurance close by, which would cover or pay me for the days I miss working?????
P.S
My regular health coverage (medical and dental) is through my husbands m plan.
You can go to a existence company and purchase a disability policy that would cover what you are looking for. However with that being said you have a pre-existing get if you are looking to have surgery already so most likely there would not be any coverage. Good Luck.
Aflac has plans that will pay you for the heyday you miss.
Although, because this is a pre-existing condition, Aflac probably won't cover this particular instance.

Jan 03, 2007 by Paul S | Posted in Financial Services
i havent paid subject insurance for seven months
You can be entitled to Jobseekers Allowance (JSA) if you have not paid National Insurance (NI) contributions.
JSA is paid to all that fulfil the "means test" and only differs in that, if you have paid apportion NI contributions you will receive JSA for 6 months without the means test being applied.
JSA is not, in the mere, based on NI contributions. Income Support is only payable to those who are unable to vocation such as lone parents, ill health etc.
Survey with your local benifit office, if your total amount of contributions over the years are too low your jobseekers would be topped up by gains support.

National insurance rise 'madness'
09.12.09
Guidance plans to increase National Insurance contributions by 1% in April 2011 have been described as "craziness" by business groups.
Chancellor Alistair Darling announced in the Pre-Budget Article that NI rates paid by workers, employers and the self-employed would soar by a further 0.5% from the start of the 2011/2012 tax year.
When combined with the 0.5% increment already announced in this year's Budget, the measures mean NI rates will on the rise by 1% in April 2011.
The move will raise the Government an additional £3 billion in gate during the 2011/2012 tax year.
But business groups warned that the on the rise would hit employment and damage the recovery.
Stephen Robertson, chief general of the British Retail Consortium, said: "This is ridiculousness. This makes it more expensive for all businesses to maintain and create jobs."
The Bund of Small Businesses said the rise was "an attack on jobs", adding that it showed a "official lack of vision from the Government on tackling the key challenge of rising unemployment".
